Could someone give me tips on using the search ?

I really hve no luck except on title hit's (HDS for example)

I use other forum's a lot and pretty much get anything I need, but this one must need a lot of input.
I would really appreciated it! VDG

Type HDS in quotation marks like this: "HDS"

EDIT: Hmm...In that link I posted, those arent the same results I got.

Try This:

Type in HDS and select: In Subject, LED Forum, and newer than 1 month.

Make sure you change the time frame for the search. As a librarian, I am used to much more powerful search tools, and so I read the time frame as an entirely seperate function (i.e. show me all posts within the last week) vs a property for the search.

The search also doesn't use booleans, so don't bothor with complex queries. It does handle, according to the clickable link and my trials, a googlesque "+" to AND rather than OR multiple terms.

Finally make sure you change the forum in the left box. I think I have seen it default to just a single forum somehow when I went to search. Change to all forums for more resutls.

Let this thread be your guide.

Yup, no Boolean operators so complex searches are out of the question. But, you can do AND searches if you use "+" in front of your search operators. If you type 2 or more word without the "+" it does an OR search. Selecting the appropriate time to search back (1 week, 3 years, etc.) helps. Also, click on the "main threads/posts" option (or something like that).

thanks.Former_Mag_User, I used "HDS" for an example of one that worked, i have had more trouble with say "micro AAA" or something. thabnks for the link and advice. VDG
