Hi,

In response to a user's question, I have decided to write a cpf faq. I am looking for a few people to help with this task. By help I mean to give me ideas about what questions to answer. I can flesh out topics; I just need to make sure I'm covering all the bases.

I would prefer a few long-time cpf members, but am open to anyone. If you are interested, please be the type person who checks email at least 1-2 times a day.

As of now, I have about 5-7 pages written so far. I don't want it to grow too large, or people won't read it. I am not ready to post it right now either.

Well, that's it. Send interests to me PM.

and I almost forgot... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Could you please post what topics you're considering so far so we can make better recommendations and avoid duplicates. A FAQ is a daunting project, thanks for working on it.

Happy Birthday!

I'll be glad to help out as time permits...I really good at proofing and playing the dumb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif advocate to ensure that the point cannot be misunderstood.

I suggest it be posted on another forum? Maybe general flashlight discussion. I doubt newbies would start browsing this site from the cafe.

Billson... once it's complete, it will be put on a seperate page with a link in the menubar... not that anyone ever looks at that either... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon6.gif ... but it's the best I can do... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Sasha,

It's as good a place as any. At least it'll be somewhere easy to find if someone takes the time and effort to look.

And we will point users to it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another way I thought of is to create a forum called FAQ, and start a thread for each FAQ category such as incan, LED, general questions, CPF questions, etc. Inside each thread, each post should be a question, and the body of the post will be a short answer (keep it short) with references to other threads for further reading. We can then submit entries to the forum moderators who will post them under the appropriate thread. No personal communication in the forum, strictly for FAQ reading only. I believe it's slightly easier than maintaining a document.

Aaron... and I can do that too... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif ... I hope to be able to do a little more with the front page one of these days... when I'm not so buried with so many other things... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Kevin... unfortunately, what you describe... while it's a great idea!... would be much more difficult to maintain than just a single document... but it's also worth consideration for perhaps some kind of variation... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
