CR123A Failure Modes?

I'm having a friend of mine here on the forums build me a battery vampire. I intend to use a single 5mm LED in a P60-type LA to run a single CR123A primary.

Question: Is there any danger in running down a single CR123A primary all the way to down to zero voltage? This would be at extremely low power draw.

I did just that. Nothing happened. No exciting fireworks.

When it gets to 2.6V and below, the Nichia GS 5mm module got very dim, I would say 1/4 the lumens of Gerber Infinity. Probably 1 lumen or so, at 2.5V and below.

To me, it sound appealing but I don't want to use it for the 'vampire' mode at all, just a regular fully charged 123 cell. The vampire thing is just a bonus.
