Cracked Reactor head....mod suggestions?

The polycarbon head on my CMG reactor started to become cracked. So rather than repair it, I'd figure I'd crack it open some more and salvage the luxeon. What project can I do with this device? I'm looking for suggestions here.

I've been thinking of making my own headlamp, probably with some Chi-wings but a salvaged Luxeon would do nicely. The idea is take a 2AA plastic battery holder, put an AA in one of the two battery slots, and a Madmax and some LED's and maybe some heat sinking in the other slots. Put a little mouse pad foam on the back and strap it to your head. Maybe the LED itself should be on a flexible wire stalk so you can adjust its direction. Result is a lightweight lamp that runs on a cheap easy-to-find alkaline or NiMH AA.
