I just bought a new lamp and it's pretty cool.

Lamp specs: 550lumen 120V spotlight. Cool, but too yellow and too dim. I want to stick a WA Solarc bulb in there. On their Solarc page, do those bulbs come with ballasts? If not, where do I get ballasts? Where is a good place to find transformers? Thank you.

Hate to burst your bubble, but that's not a HID. It's just an ordinary screw-in spot/flood bulb. It is an interesting looking lamp, though! That might work out good for some LED mods, both white and multicolored look interesting to my imagination... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would recommend one of the new fluorescent spot lights. They come in the same shape as the screw in spot light you have, only with a fluorescent tube inside. Around 825 lumens if I remember correctly. Priced around $5.00, it would be a safe, cheap mod with whiter light.

Hmm that's a good idea lambda. I might go check out home depot today. Thanks.
