I don't know if I'm posting this in the right section but I cree'd my brass lioncub and I'm looking for a better reflector for it.
The stock reflector works ok after I cut it down a little but I had to add a rubber gasket between the reflector and glass window to keep it relatively watertight and it still isnt as tight of a seal as I would like to have.

Anyways is there a longer version of the IMS 20(I think thas what it uses) or similar that would work better for my application?

Thanks in advance

Hey, not sure which light you have, but you might wanna use the McR-20.
If you take exactly 1mm from the back of the reflector, the metal ring should just fit into the reflector. I find this to give the most effective focus for the McR-series...

Regarding IMS (plastic) reflectors: Since the the Cree-emitters have a metal ring around the dome which gets hot, it can peel off the coating or even melt the reflector at the base. I have had this issue already. Luxeon's heat path was only to the slug and then to the heatsink. Since there is a metal ring around the dome, it will also collect heat and pass this on the the reflector. My advice, avoid using plastic reflectors...

Stock McR-20: 15.24mm
After sanding: 14.24mm

Don't have the IMS-20 specs-sheet with me, but if it's more then 14.24mm
then you already have what you have been asking for. Cheers !
