d10/ezaa on 14500 vs. p2d

i´m looking for a new edc. i really like the fact that you can use aa sized batteries in the nitecore d10/ezaa. thats why i have a couple of questions:

-are there any beamshots of the d10/ezaa r2 on 14500 compared with the p2d q5 (thats my edc since a year)?

-are there any shots of the d10 next to the ezaa next to the p2d to compare their sizes?

You may also find some of "selfbuilt'' reviews useful. Like his review of the EZAA. He has beamshots of the EZAA using normal AA batteries, and a beamshot of the EZAA on 14500's right next to it. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=228281

The P2D is the same head as the L1D/L2D, which is very similar to the newer LD10/LD20. You should be able to find comparisons with the L1D/LD10 on 14500.

Note that the relative difference between lights on Max is proportionally similar on Eneloop as it is on 14500 (i.e. LD10/D10 are about comparable, and the EZAA is slightly less output). The D10/EZAA/LD10 beamshots on Eneloop in my EZAA review will thus give you a very good relative idea:

If the EZ AA can run on 14500 a great light just got better.

The original EZ AA did not support 14500 (you would indeed go if you tried). This version was recalled due to abnormally low output/runtime on Lo reported in my original thread and by others.

The replacement shipping version supports 14500. If you are not sure which version you have, check out the instruction sheet that came with it. The original version specified 1.5V AA only, and had a warning against using batteries >2V (i.e. all 14500s). The replacement version no longer has that restriction, but has a warning not use Li-ions without a protection circuit (always a sensible idea). NiteCore confirms 14500 are a-ok on this replacement version.

I run my EZAA 2nd gen on 14500 with no problems. It actually seems brighter than my D10 R2 on 14500.

Thanks. I have been using a lithium primary AA cell. My "eneloop" AAs from 4 Sevens arrived today so I thought I might try that ...now a 14500?! Sounds good!
