I have 2 recahargable cr123s that use in my flashlight but now when i put them into the light it works for about 5 minutes and then the light shuts off ,and it works again after leaving it off for a while but only for a few minutes. Right after it turns off I checked the batteries for volts and one of them is fine with 3.2 volts but the other reads 0. Do I need new batteries? The 16340 RCR123As I bought didn't work either. It doesn't surprise me that yours failed given what I have heard about them from others on CPF. The Ultrafires have 880 mAh while the primaries have 1500 mAh. I think the rechargeable 123s are just too small to work. I know this sounds facile but I think it's true based on the short period of time these batteries perform and the experience of myself and others.

The battery registering 0 volts has probaby been turned off by the protection circuit. Try puting it back in the charge for a minute or so. It should jump up to 3 volts or so. Then go ahead and charge it back up to 4.2 volts or so.

3.2V is quite on the low side too. You would want to charge both cells to 4.2V, but since the cells are now probably out of balance, it may be dangerous to use them in series because of the risk of reverse charging.
I don't think that the general concert about RCRs is warranted, but I would recommend staying away from UltraFires and checking HKJ's reviews before deciding on another set.
Remember, you usually get what you pay for, so you might not want to skimp on something that might blow your arm off. :D

Depending to which brand of your batteries and flashlight you used them with. If your flashlight pulls more amps (ie. has more lumens ratings), those batteries will be drained hard to the point the protection circuit kicks in.
To test, you could run your flashlight in lower mode (or find another light) and see if the batteries hold up. If your batteries run fine in low modes, your light needs batteries with higher current ratings.
3.2V is low if you use li-ion 3.7V batteries, but is normal if you use li-ion 3.0V. For example, I have few Tenergy 3.0V li-ions that I used them in a SF M3 with Nailbender XML LED drop-in. They last for few mins then shut of while they run quite longer in a 6P with M61W.

Duracell daylight flashlight , trustfire 3.7v 880mah , and random ebay charger. I know this is not a good setup just what I bought as a noob , I already ordered a nitecore p12 , nitecore i4 charger and going to get better batteries , oh and charging all day seemed to fix the problem
