well...the good news is my A2s MA02 finally blew out, the bad news is my spare lamp is a dud:shakehead
never before tested, still in the plastic bag it came in...from the outside the lamp looks fine, great...
load it in and pop in batteries, twist on, and instantly HOT HOT HOT
untwist it....the bezel was very very warm, so I unscrewed the bezel and extracted the lamp assembly with needle nosed pliers
didn't see anything too special, no foreign objects that might lodge in the place where the lamp base is seated. :candle:
suspecting it was a bad lamp, I took out my multimeter and touched the two contacts [the top ring and the bottom bulge], it registered no resistance:green:
How often does surefire do this? any statistics?
I bought this with an SC3 from OpticsHQ awhile ago...its stupid on my part by not taking it out and test the lamp first...so all this time I have been carrying around a dud lamp
