just received my dereelight dbs v3 r2 and all i can say is wow does this thing throw ive been looking for a good throw light and i never expected it to throw this much

I must agree. I cant wait until Flashlight Connection gets in the aspherical head. Jay is very helpful and has always been quick to get my orders shipped.

congratulations on your purchase. have a dbs v3 r2 also. incredible light. its getting little attention now since new thrower lights are coming out. hope all the veteran dbs owners can
give us tips how to mod/upgrade this light so it can go toe-to-toe with the newer lights.

The newer lights still can't touch the DBS IMHO.
Still the best compact thrower around and very well priced too!

And, with the XML pill driving at 3A, it's a match made in heaven! Too bad the Dereelight XML can't be run on a single cell...I was thinking about swapping out my Solarforce XML pill since it can handle the lower voltage and stay in regulation; it's just not quite as bright as the Dereelight one. Some folks have SST 50 DBSs which I would presume are more floody than the XML, but the same overall lumens. R2 is the ultimate throw XPG is next, then the XML (my personal favorite and it works well with the SMO reflector too!) then the SST50.
