This came to my mind

The blueish base is lenght7,5 cm* high2,5cm and those red cubes are 2*2*2cm, perfect fit to Star.
Of course it need to be done alu etc. parts.
Plan is to attach the Stars best way to be seen.
Tenet to be KISS principle, please.

How about a short piece of aluminum square tube or rod? You can put two stars on each side. This would be an easy, no-machining solution. You could either stagger the mounting of the stars on the tube or get two pieces and screw/glue/weld them together like your clay model.

I suppose square rod would be a workable solution too, with more heat sinking capacity. This might be a concern with your light since it's covered. Square rod would be easier to build into your clay model; one screw could hold the two pieces of rod together and simultaneously hold the rod to the host!

I have also think, that three pieces on aluminum square block will do the trick.
One base block and two cubes on the roof. As my picture shows. If I put those cubes, like they are in picture, I can then cover all directions by leds.
