Did I get fake Surefire M2?

I live in Japan and I got it at auction in Japan.
I am concerned about the Surefire logo on the tailcap. It is out of alignment, and I've never seen this "SURE-FIRE" logo.
If it's not a replica, I want to know how old this is. The serial# is A01322. What do you think?

Looks like you got the real-deal...an old "cross-hair" version. The "Sure-Fire" lettering on the T/C is also genuine. You have a real collectors piece there! An Cross-Hair Laser Products M2 in that condition would fetch a nice price on the MP. I'd definitely like to add that to my collection.

The only version I've seen older than that is the M2 Centurion.

EDIT: Not referring to the M2 Centurion in Kramer's post either...LOL

I have several old Surefire lights with the same cap. It not fake. It's old. Surefire started putting Laser Products on their lights and the changed the name so Surefire. One of mine is not quite centered like yours. Enjoy your Surefire!

Now I got another SF products I ordered. These are discontinued in Japan (in the US too?).

Yes those lights are now discontinued but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying them one bit less:) I think you're going to love that C3 with KT turbohead, that's a beautiful light.

I had only L2 for EDC until I saw discontinued list. Then I realized that I have to keep these beautiful lights.
I can't buy any other for a while. SF lights are a bit expensive in Japan:( But I can see your amazing collection at CPF!!

This is FM27 cover for turboheads, M4 and M6. It is also discontinued in Japan despite the M6LT is released.

It's actually the other way around!

The FM2x BeamFilters were designed for the Millennium TurboHead.
When it came time to update the SRTH, the "KT" TurboHead was styled to balance the need for the FM2x BeamFilters to have something to locate and grip onto, with the need to keep the volume and mass of the "KT" TurboHead to a minimum.

My FM27's logo plate is upside down. The shop says all of their stocks are same as mine.

Ah, that actually makes perfect sense. Did the older turboheads have any filter capability? If I recall during that era the filters were round press/slip on versions with the 2 little tabs to pop open on the 6P etc.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's still a very nice set.

If the shop has any more of the M2s, you should buy another for a "back-up"!
