Rothrandir's T-slot cellphone clip button adapter. thread (He put up almost no fight when I wrestled this proto from him)
These are the options I have for carrying the E2 with either a Mclux PR or a 3" T-head.
The cellphone clip is really good stuff, it is very easy to get the light and reinsert it. With the Tslot adapter (finely handcrafted, and a good design, too) the E2PR rides head up, I think this is normally the most balanced and least obtrusive way to carry it. The lens is about the same height as the top of the clip. Also it is less bulky than the collar, since it hides right behind the allready bulky head.
The collar on the other hand, sitting right in front of the tailswitch, helps with a much used syringe grip, and also makes it easier to hold the light in the mouth now after I have chewed off the rubber boot.
The kydex sheath keeps the light with the head up, but it goes too high for my general taste. I haven't tried carrying the sheath horizontally, it would interfere with my knife.
If I used the Tslot adapter, I could mount the sheath on a headband. The sheath also acts as a shroud to prevent the switch from activating. The holding force is adjustable with two screws. I noticed when I first tried it that the knurling on the E2 (actually an L4) rubbed off some matter from the sheath, but I haven't used it much so I have no idea if this will continue.
For now I have ended up using the collar, mostly because I somehow feel more comfortable when the bezel points away from me. Sometimes when both hands are occupied I just turn it on while in the clip to see the ground beneath me. It would also be awkward to carry the T1 turbohead with half the E2 body extending above the clip, I think.
I am looking forward to seeing how a E1PR will be with the Tslot adapter.
