Difficulty to change MC-E to a 3 mode?

Hello all,

I have a DX WF502-B that came with a 5 mode MC-E that was my first 18650 light. I still have it but cannot stand the blinky modes and am wondering if it's difficult to put the emitter onto something in 3 (or maybe single) mode.

Not even sure it I am using the correct terms, but is it difficult to put it on a new circuit board? Can I do that and put it back in the pill it came in? I can solder and I'm not too worried about destroying the setup so I figured I'd try to make it into something that I would use again.

If it is easy enough, where is a good source for a circuit board?

If you like the 502 then you can reuse it & the MCE emitter and upgrade to a 3 mode driver. Shining Beam sells a very popular driver that you can configure for 1,2,3 or 5 modes. If you can solder you can do this.

OTOH, since the 502 uses P60 drop-ins you could just buy a new drop-in. If you like 3 modes w/ plenty of output check out the Manafont [UF] XML 3 mode drop-in [H-M-L version].
