I know about LED differences, but two lamps for Garrity 2AAs are night and day different!

One makes a very white beam but not nearly as smooth as the other. I tried mixing and matching reflectors but it is pretty much all lamp!

I get these of course to harvest the clickie from!

The newest one has a longer tailcap with a spare bulb.

Same thing happened with me Joe. Out of the three I've purchased, one has an impressively bright, fairly clean beam. The other two are quite a bit weaker and not as clean. I tried switching things around and came to the same conclusion as you...the lamps are way inconsistant.

Guess I got lucky with the one. It's output is really good for a 2AA alkaline, and I plan on using it until the lamp goes. The clickie will then serve as a backup for my G2.

On a side note...I know you use your G2 a lot. Have you had to replace the LA yet? I hate being without a backup, but they do cost a bit.

Lately I've been carrying my Kroll modded TT2L instead of my G2/clickie.

That said, I haven't killed the original lamp module yet (and have a spare already).

I just messed with two Eveready penlights, one 2AA older and one 2AAA newer.

The 2AAA has a better beam that's brighter.

Thanks....It's good to know I can probably trust the G2 LA. I intend on getting a backup along with a SC1 spares carrier at some point.

Weird on the AAA being brighter and cleaner. Perhaps being newer, it was designed better. If not then boo to the erratic factor.

That Kroll mod sounds nice. Cycling the switch is the only thing I would change on the TT series.

The Kroll mod on the TT is KEWL!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My second P60 is being driven by 2xCR2 in an Eveready 2aa light.

Whoops, I put newer batteries in the 2AA and it's brighter again. Penlights like these use a bulb with screw threads that pokes out the end. Any beam differences are in the bulbs.

Can someone fill me on what the above is about? Sadly I only find time to visit here on occasion. Thanks.

The TT stands for Twin Task....a line of flashlights by Streamlight. They have an led and incandescent mode. The Kroll mod is a switch put on the tailcap so you don't have to cycle through the two modes.

It doesn't stop the cycling through modes.

It lets the light always start in LED or in Xenon (or it can be between modes for true lock out).

Welcome to you BrightFlashlights!

Re: Discrepency between two Garrity 2AAs *DELETED*

What Joe said. I didn't explain it very well.

Please point me to a link that shows the Kroll switch (& where to get one). When 95% of your other lights are t/c activated it's hard to get used to a bezel mounted switch.

Thanks.
