Also Sanyo is a good brand but has anyone ever used Venom Betterys (RC Car Brand) are they good for torches e.g. mag85 mod etc

Please tell me what you think

Thanks

I very strongly recommend that you should NEVER buy ANY cells on eBay. They will be counterfeit, very poor quality, and probably actually dangerous.

They are not always counterfeit... I bought batteries from eBay many times without any problem other than known problems with the brand itself (Energizer high self-discharge). If you want to stay safe, do not order from member from China/HK. And if you ever receive a counterfeit product, PayPal WILL refund you and you won't have to return the product...

That is assuming you receive the product and have time to test it and fully evaluate it within the 14-day period set by Paypal (the 14 days starts from when you pay, BTW.)

Too many people have been caught out by this, with cells failing after perhaps only a few cycles, by which time the Paypal limit has usually already expired.

there are stuffs on ebay seem way too cheap and the seller has very high positive feeback. i rencently bought 12 AA NiMH cost $15au.
i wonder how they make profit or the price in retail store is way too high

some of those sellers have very high positive feedback. if they only last a few cycle, people should give them bad feedback

Depending on where you live, many things are overpriced in store... Just taking a look at CR123A, they are $8 CAD a piece at Wal-Mart when you can get the same for under $2 CAD online. Same with NiMH. They are $16 CAD for 4 at most stores and I can often 8 for the same price online... (I'm in Canada)

Unfortunately, I haven't found that to be the case.

One item I bought off of Ebay turned out to be counterfeit and Ebay/Paypal insisted that I return the item to the seller at my own cost and by registered mail before they would force a refund. The cost to do this was higher than the amount that I paid for the counterfeit!

Ebay is very much a case of buyer beware. In my opinion, there are a lot of counterfeits sold on Ebay and Ebay are quite happy with that and do very little about it since they're still making money off the sale of counterfeit items...

If you're going to buy something off Ebay, I'd suggest that you check for negative/neutral feedback using the following page:
http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs

Unfortunately, far too many people give positive feedback once they've received the item - before they've fully checked it out to make sure that it's legit - most of these fraudulent sellers have 99+% feedback because of this and the negative feedback can be hard to find when you do go looking for it - unless you use a tool such as the above.

You will be fine with double-I-trading and ozbatteries(ABN registered). Not so sure about the other one.

Their prices are not cheap at all, I think they are costly compared to what you get from elsewhere.
