Does a Mag still suck after MOD?

Simply put, Mag-Lites are the Chevrolet small block of flashlights. They're inexpensive, readily available, reliable, tough, easy to modify and everybody and their brother makes accessories for them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have given one of my 3Ds tougher service, in the 17 years I have owned it, than most people will ever give their flashlights. It has been dropped over ten feet onto concrete, run over by a car, arced against automotive battery posts and yes.... used as an impromptu hammer once or twice. For what I paid for it and the service I have received from it, I think I have got my money's worth. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mag's are decent lights for the money- and cheap enough that we can afford to mod them: I'm not about to spend $100 on a Surefire, and $20 a pop on bulb-modules just to make my own 5w LS mods, even if I could afford 123's all the time. Hopefully Mag-Instrument will be nice enough to leave the mod-makers alone, as they are actually HELPING Mag sell more lights... probably less than a thousand, but every one counts.
