Hi guys.

I'm looking for a new headlamp and wonder if any headlamp on the marked fits or nearly fits my requirements.

- Two lightsources. One main beam (White, neutral or warm or something) and one red lightsource. I know there is a lot of headlamps on the marked with red leds, but they seems to be too dim for me. Would like 10-20 lumens from the red led. Would be GREAT if there was 2-3 modes on the red led.

- Uses 1 CR123 or AA

- Doesn't have a headstrap over the head (Not important, but would be great if they just had one strap around the head.)

- Doesn't have a external battery pack. Battery fits in the headlamp like in Zebralights etc.

Thanks!

My SF Minimus Vision came with a snap on red filter (bought S/H from CPFMP) not sure if it comes stock, but it fills all the criteria - white beam, red beam (with clip on filter), multilevel, no top strap, no external battery, 1x CR123

Echo,
The Minimus Vision seems like a good headlamp that suits me well.

How does it feel on the head? It seems a little long, especially compared to Zebralights, who unfortunately doesn't have any headlamps that fits me.

I like mine, it sits nice and close to the head, and is pretty stable.

other headlamps i have used (black diamond, petzl, inova24/7, and cheapies) all seem to sit out to far and bounce a bit, whereas the minimus doesnt - the "breathoprene" pad on the back is comfy, it will get sweaty eventually, but feels nice.
runtime is great for the size/power, especially if you are not running it full tilt all the time.

i actually EDC mine in a pocket, it gets used maybe once a week.

I dont actually use the red filter, my filter sits on my bedside table, it is well made, and clips on securely, but due to the shape (semicircle ish) and material i feel it could be easily broken if squashed the wrong way - it would be almost unbrakeable when attached to the light though.

On the cheaper side of the spectrum is the Princeton Tec EOS Tactical. This is what I use at work. The filter stays in place and can be flipped up or down while it's on your head.
