Hello Folks!
I am new to this forum, just registered today. I sort of stumbled on this website in an odd way. I just purchased the latern in the title of this post, and I have been lurking for the past two days looking for info on it, specifically that there seem to be some posters that like to mod this light, and install a sealed beam unit in it. I took mine apart tonight, and noticed that it looks like the wires won't need to be modified, and I can tell from looking around here on the site that a PAR36 bulb will work, but i have a couple of questions:
I can get my hands on a PAR36@25W, for about 8$ locally,but I am concerned that I will have to modify the housing to get it to fit? Would it be better to just stick to the 8W PAR36? I can order one of those over the 'Net.
If I make the jump to that kind of wattage, will that be detrimental to the wiring, circuit board, or battery? I'm not sure the wiring would be able to handle it.
What type of run time could I expect out of the 6VDC battery inside? I would assume less than the stated 4 hours. Please advise, and thanks for reading. Sorry if I rambled a bit!🙂
