In want to put together an single cell light using a Solarforce LM2 host. But the drop-in seen with either eat a XX123 in 15min or need the drive of a (16350)lithium ion cell. Please advise as buying a new light has lost out battle to the need for new shocks on the truck!

Solarforce low volt XP-G will give you approx. 1-1½h (pulls 1A@3V edit: 1-mode version).

Low volt XP-G from Solarforce is hard to beat. Or maybe one of the XT-E drop ins that Kai is selling for 8 bucks right now. L2m fits an 18350 battery like a charm, I use mine with the Manafont XM-L 3 mode

The low voltage (.8-4.2v) XP-G 3 mode (H-M-L) drop works well. I use it with a 2-AA setup and get long run times with a nice tight beam.
