Are all Duracell "Accu" NiMH cells of the stay-charged variety ? I thought they were but now I think I was mistaken.

Isn't "accu" just the shortened version of the european word for chargeable device, "accumulator"?

I've certainly seen plenty of internet ads for Duracell "accu" batteries that did not mention "stay-charged" or "pre-charged" and on the otehr hand I've seen other ads for Duracell batteries that have "accu" as well as "stay-charged" so I'm guessing that there are both varieties and that they are not mutually inclusive.

looks like sellers are tossing accu on this and that willy nilly, if you want LSD then make sure your getting LSD and ignore the accu part.

also i have NOT seen a real workable LSD cell that is over 2200ma as it is listed (real or not) so when you see some 2450ma or some such thing, accu or precharged or not it is unlikly to be a suitably LSD battery item (so far). so the numbers can provide some clue.

Who makes a 2200mAh LSD NiMH cell?

Cheers,
Battery Guy

i think the accuevolution AA thing is listed as 2200. usually i only use the C and D versions of those as eneloops dont come in full amperages of the C&D sizes. but i now have 8 (only) of thier AAs , so i will see. i suspect like the 2100s they will not be AS robust as the 2000 things. mabey they arent even LSD ??

i have not done any testing of them what-so-ever but using them. if they test ok After i use them i will comment further
(meaning i could frankly not care what they do new out of the package , as everything works wonderfully then)

i was more trying to point out that if you see 2450ma and think it is going to be a good LSD , it probably is not Even if it is still charged some in the package Today.
We could buy energyser 2500s with some charge left in the package just because they were fresh and new (way back when) some marketing jerk could put pre-charged on those too, wouldnt mean anything when reality comes around. Non LSD cells did/do/will hold a good lot of capacity for a long time WHEN fresh and new, it is when everything goes to heck later in time that its value was seen.

placing "Pre-Charged" Ketch words on stuff could be "legal" not constitute fraud and it still would be meaningless. they could just alter the allowable shelf time (for example) with dealers using the corporate representatives monitoring the shelf stock like many companies reps already do. stuff like that, and "Pre-Charge" them. ya know every trick in the book, whatever sells. see barnum & bailey quotes :)

Yeh the "Accu" description seems to apply to anything now. I saw some Energizer Accus this weekend. I've been had.

Vidpro, interesting that you warn against "Pre-charged", because there are some AA cells in Home Bargain (UK) labelled thus, that are a bargain price if they are true LSD cells at £4.99 for 4xAA + charger. However I do not want to be "had" again so have not bought.

Found a link to Camlink cells. At Home Bargains (UK) these are available for £2.99 for 2AA or 2AAA inc.charger or £4.99 for 4 cells inc. charger.

Yes these look to be genuine LSD cells (if you look at the link above, you can see you need to be careful to get the LSD cells with an orange stripe)

Anyone tried these?
