Duracell \"Procells\" AAA

I was in my favorite electronics store today and they were selling these at a good price. Are they any different than the usual Duracell alkalines? I thought I'd pick some up to put in my Arc AAA for camping. Will longer runtime be the only benefit?

Re: Duracell

Don't quote me on this. From what i heard they are the same old duracells minus the fancy packaging they sell in the stores.

Re: Duracell

i've heard that they are a little different. my old boss used to tell me that they would hodl their rated voltage longer than regular duracels. never done any testing tho. they are a heck of a lot more expensive than regular dracels, at least from where we used to get them. alot of the industry folks swear by procells or energizer's industrial batteries.

Re: Duracell

I used to work at a battery distrubutor. We tested standard Duracell blister pack cells and the Procells and they were identical. No difference at all in low or high drain situations.

They're not more expensive than the regular Duracells. They're much cheaper. I wish I could still get those at cost now!

Re: Duracell

I believe these are exactly the same cells as the standard ones but they are targeted at the industrial and business users. The big marketing ploy is the fact that the different packaging makes the identification of pilferage easier to determine by companies, as the 'procell' brand is normally only available through business and mail order companies.
