Just found my E1e. After figgering out which end to put the 123 battery in....the output seems rather anemic by today's standards. I'm looking for LED conversion options. Everything I've found is a conversion head for $100+ :( Guess that's the downside of buying quality products....they outlast themselves.
Thanx,

Lumens factory E1-LED single mode assembly $43.50.
2.7v-4.5v Max output is 420 lm but I recon it's more like 250 lm at 3v (cr123 primary) with a nice floody beam. It doesn't work with protected rechargeable cells as they're too long.
Their shop is offline at the moment until 2nd Dec.
I believe someone called Tana on this forum used to make a drop-in LED assembly too. Not sure if he's still making them.

The Malkoff options mentioned by RWT1405 are worth saving up for 👍
Not as compact as the original incandescent head though.

Omg! Get the Lumens factory E1R. 90 lumens off of a 16340. Keep it incandescent.

I just bought two of the Lumens Factory E1E led drop ins and these really are very well designed. This drop in fit perfectly and really improved the old E1E. Bulbstock.com has a few in stock and ships quickly from the U.S. if you do not want to wait until Lumens Factory returns.

Thanx to all for the replies! There are some great suggestions here. I dearly love Malkoff indeed. They just did me right by replacing my 6P drop in after it came out of the head in pieces....after about 20 years of riding in a cop's pocket with heavy EDC use. I'm having an internal debate justifying spending $100+ on this little guy. We all have our cross to bear.....Thanx again!!
