E1e - L4 problem

I think I did something bad. I just got my l4 and put the kl4 head on the e1e body. Then I put the e1e head on the L4 body. The kl4 still works but the e1e head doesn't on either body. Did I blow it? Any suggestions on what I should do now?
 
You probably did blow the bulb. The e1e lamp, I think the number is MN01, is designed for operation a ~3v as supplied by one lithium cell. The MN02 (25 lumens) and MN03(65 lumens) lamps are designed for the e2e, and are for ~6V, 2 cells. So if you want to use the head on the L4 body, order one of these. The LED head has electronics in it that can accept a wider range of input voltages than a simple lamp can.

So am I correct in believing that both of these will work on the l4 body but will both be very week on the e1e?

Are there any other bulbs that people would reccomend?
 
MN02 and MN03 are for 2 cells (6V) the MN01 is for 1 cell (3V). Both the MN02 and MN03 will work in the L4, neither will work well with one cell. For the E1e all you should really use is the MN01 or the KL head.
 
Don't feel too bad...I did something similar when I switched a 6P (2-cell) head with a 9P (3-cell) body. It was over in a split second. The 6P bulb was blown. The KL3 head (LED) will work on both though.

KL3 head is the Luxeon Star LED 1-watt head-bezel assembly for the 6P-series of flashlight. They have larger diameter body compared with your E1 or L4.

KL1 is its equivalent for the E1-size E-series body. About 20 lumens, but long runtime.

MN03 is the bulb you place inside the bezel or head of an E2 (6-volts). It is incandencent vs LED for the KL-x.

Thanks. So it seems to me I should just get the MN03 to replace the one I blew out and it should fit exactly...Is this what you guys would do?
 
Yes...unless you wanted longer runtime and softer light, for close up work, for example, and then you'd want the MN02. So perhaps both?

And then, what if you want to put an incan back on the E1? You'd then need a replacement for the blown MN01. Just a roundabout way of saying all three have their uses in your flashlight armamentarium.

But, if I were to get only one, it would be the MN03, 'cuz it's brite! And the KL1 is good on the E1.
