E2C adapter effects on lumens?

I'm considering getting a Lumens Factory E2C adapter for my SF E2L, but I've read in a light forum that such adapters can reduce the lumens output. Can someone please tell me if this point is valid or not? I ultimately want to use a C2 head and a M61L engine with it.

I don't see how that is possible. Even if the extra material causes more resistance on some electrical path somewhere (:shrug:) it would be negligible, and the dropin you're using is going to be noticeably brighter than the stock E2L anyway. Nothing to worry about.
 
The point is valid, but not for your planned setup.
Additional resistance can reduce light output, the impact can be very noticeable in high current direct drive lights.

Added resistance is not critical if you are using a low-power and regulated LED like an M61L. Brightness should be the same as the regulation compensates for the resistance, you'll probably get a few seconds less runtime.
 
Any additional connection in electrical path creates some kind of resistance... if you add A19 extender to 6P instead of going for 9P in the first place, you will have some higher resistance compared to 9P... As Helmut.G stated, based on used LED there will be small difference in either runtime or output but both are negligible...

However, using E2C adapter, specifically setup you mentioned, you'll have the same resistance and amp flow as you would in C2 body as module is connecting to E series body directly, not thru adapter - E2C is there only to keep it in place...
 
The point is definitely valid. Here are the results of tests done on a direct drive setup using different tailcap mechanisms, the results are in lux
Percentage of lux:

Wire (6 inch 12 gauge) = 100%
Fluke/heavy leads (5.04A)= 98%
McClicky kit in Z41 (new) = 92%
Surefire Z59 clicky (new) = 90.6%
Surefire Z41 twisty (new) = 79.6%

As you can see, there is as much as the 12% different difference between the various clickies. Other tailcaps like a FETtie based switch or a ZeroRez switch will give even more output, closer to the heavy wire leads.

So if a simple difference in terms of a steel spring makes such difference, i think an adapter would as well BUT it is only present in direct drive setups.
 
As Tana said, the E2C adapter is not part of the electrical path when used with a Surefire E2E or other Executive compatible body.
It is only there to keep the drop-in in place, and push it down against the lip of the body.
So the adapter does not have any effect on the lumen output.
