E2DL Clicking Sound

I just noticed when I shake my E2DL up and down as if in a stabbing motion while it's on high mode, the light creates a clicking sound. :shakehead This sound only occurs when the light is turned on (either on high or low). Does everyone's E2DL behave this way??:crazy: Almost like an electrical clicking sound...or something, it's not loud, I can barely hear these "clicks". It has to be quiet in the room to hear it.

I just tried the same up/down motion on high and it doesn't make that clicking sound

Hmm this is weird. When the light is off, there is no clicking sound when shaked, so the sound is only present when it's on. It has to be shaken a bit vigorously in a stabbing motion, next to the ear, to hear it. Anyone else with a E2DL can give it a try?

EDIT: Upon further investigation, the sound seems to be originating from the tailcap, perhaps the spring...

Hahaha I think I found out what's causing this.:p The sound is coming from the clicky button. I realized if I keep my finger on the clicky(momentary on), there is no sound, and if I press it all the way for constant on and let go of my finger, that's when it starts to click. The button has a loose space to "unclick" it. And that's what's causing the sound.:ironic: Ajajaj

Yes and No. Ocassionally yes when I switch it on and shake it near my ear there is faint sound. Sometimes there is no sound at all. In OFF position, I tried several times, there is no sound.

Yeah it depends how used the clicky is. The more used, the more "loose" it gets. And when let go of it, it starts this clicking sound because of the dangling loose rubber and whatever is inside the clicky. I'm just glad it's not the LED. :D

Some SF clickies rattle a bit when on. This may be what you're hearing.

I believe it's normal. The newest version of the Z57 makes a lot less noise than the one before. I've never had a problem with any generation SF clicky, regardless of model, but the rattling noise isn't exactly confidence-inspiring, even if it isn't indicative of an actual problem.

It is perfectly normal for push button switches, for the obvious reason that once clicked, the spring is no longer forcing the button outwards, therefore it will slide back and forth.

Just wish i didn't realise cause now i will always rattle it :crackup:

Clicking Sound in SF 6P Momentary-On Switch

Hi, I don't mean to hijack this thread but it is related to a problem I have with my 6P (incandescent with momentary-on switch). My 6P momentary-on switch makes a clicking sound when depressed into the momentary-on mode. My G2 (also incandescent with momentary-on switch) switch does not make this same sound. When I first got my 6P it did not make this sound. Does anyone have any suggestions to rectify this problem? Thanks.

I tried it with E1B and i can hear a clicking sound only when on.
