E2E carry

This is my first post here. I have browsed this forum for a couple of years but never posted before. I just recently bought a E2O-HA and I really like this light. I already had a 6P (old style) and a G2 but wanted something a little easier to carry.

So how does everyone out there carry there E2's? Do you pocket carry, belt sheath, clipped to pocket? If anyone has any pictures of the different ways they prefer to carry theirs feel free to post I would love to get a few ideas of the various ways to carry one. I can't get past the feeling that if I carry it clipped inside my pocket that it will draw a lot of attetion with the bezel sticking out of my pocket.

I alternate my E2E carry with the SF A2, mainly I've been carrying the Arc 4+, but for the past 4 months I've been using this to carry both a multi tool & light

It's worked out quite well, and you can get these at Home Depot & Lowes for about $20.

Were you a 'closet' flashaholic before you joined /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sssh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif ? I was for about 6 months or so /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

In terms of carry, if you do wish to carry it in your front pocket, I've found that the best place to put the light is as close (if not pushing up against) to the trailing edge of the pocket (i.e. horizontally the side of the pocket closest to your hip). That is, the light sitting vertically inside the pocket, pushed up against the 'back' of the pocket (please tell me if my description is confusing)?

I've found the same thing with the bezel being prominent (sitting above the pocket). I would much prefer a bezel down carry style for this reason as well as for helping with drawing and using the light. With your shirt tucked out this does not matter, but tucked in I too hesitate in carrying it this way /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Did you know that you can drop a MNO3 bulb straight into your E20 for 60 lumens of output? Or you can get the KL4 and turn your E2 into an L4 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif You probably know this, but just in case you didn't... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i too use the niteize pockits. If im not feeling self concious i use it as sheath. usually i plonk the whole thing into my backpack. alternatively i just carry my E2e in my front pockets, its definately small enough.

the pocketits are not ideal. they were designed for minimags so the fit is not that great.

I have a few different methods of carry, depending on what I'm wearing:

Gym shots - Clipped next to my cellphone holster using E2e clip
Jeans - Next to wallet in back right pocket w/ clip on back pocket
Dress Slacks - Side pocket if needed, or holstered
Other (sometimes jeans) - In $5 County Comm holster next to cellphone.

When I want to carry the light alone, I use the Ripoffs CO124 mentioned before. More often, I want to carry the E2 along with my Leatherman Wave or Supertool using a Ripoffs CO75 . The closed bottom of the sheath prevents accidental pressure on the switch when tossed in a pack.

I use a Maglight Minimag "upgrade" sheath. Nylon with velcro flap and velcro belt loop. You can put it on and take it off without removing your belt. Never had a problem with it. I think it was $5.

My L4, when I have it configured as such, goes in my back pocket, right next to my wallet. Locked-out, there's nearly no-way that it can accidentally turn itself on, and it's barely noticeable, even when sitting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use one of the collars & buttons from the Sandwich Shop. Picked up a cellphone holder from Target for $1.5. It keeps the flashlight available, secure & lets me verify it is still there.

Wow what a great list of replies! I did not realize just how active this forum was.

Lets see I have a couple answers to some questions and a couple more questions for myself.

I don’t really consider myself a flashaholic per say. I do consider myself someone who really likes gadgets etc. I came across Surefire through my interest in guns. I had read about them several times and picked up my first one a 6P at a gun show when I had some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket about 6 years ago. I bought the G2 last year because I wanted to check it out. I was impressed with my 6P and could not pass up the G2 at $35. The 6P serves as my dedicated house light and sits next to my handgun safe. The G2 has become a permanent resident in my messenger bag (man purse). I like both of those lights but both are a little big for pocket carry. I bought a horizontal carrier for the 6P but I don’t exactly want to lug around a bat belt covered with gadgets etc… Now that Mo has CCW I thought it made sense to get a nice pocket carry light that has a little better throw than the Photon on my key chain. No that does not make me a flashaholic and neither do the couple Maglights in the house and one in the Jeep or the Dorcy AAA LED that I bought just because I wanted to check it out after reading about it here. LOL Ok so maybe I do have more flashlights than the average household and just maybe I do need help. LOL

Ok on to my Questions:

I thought the E2 lights came from Surefire with a 60 Lumen bulb in them already, am I incorrect in that? The literature that came with the light gave me the impression that the light is a 60 lumen one.

Can someone explain the advantage to the L4/KL4 LED lights over a 6P or E2e? My impression is that the main difference is that the light the LED units put out is whiter than the incandescent lights. Is there a difference in battery life etc or is the main difference the color of the light produced?

I have been using a very old mini-mag leather belt case. Over the years it became too loose for the mini-mag but works great for the E2. The case is just long enough to cover the end of the light and keeps the push button from being pushed. It rides on my right side next to my Leatherman Wave.

I have recently picked up a Inova X5T (Great Light!) and has taken the place of the E2 on my side. I am using the case that came with the X5T.

The E2 now rides in my back left pocket next to my wallet. For some reason I don't nitice the E2 but I did not like the X5T in my back pocket.

When I am in dress pants I just carry the E2 in my back pocket.

Since both lights use the same batteries I carry two spare sets (4 total), along with a lighter and 15 feet of 550 cord and a set of spair batteries (for a Photon) in a REI zippered travel wallet in my left back pocket. This setup has worked real well for me for the last few months. I have been carrying the E2 for about 2 years now and would not be without it.

This is only part of my standard EDC, but it works very well for me and gives me a lot of light.

I carry mine in a SOE M2 pouch. I have always used the filter bezel rubber on my E2e's. great protection to the lamp assemblies and stops the bezels and glass lens breaking if dropped!

There are 2 versions of E2's, the E2e and E2o. They are exactly the same except for the pocket clip and lamp assemblies. the E2e comes with a 60lumen and e2o a 25lumen. the 2 types of lamp assemblies are interchangeable so u basically can have 2lights-in-one. sort of /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i dont own a L4 so not really qualified to answer. i THINK another advantage of an L4 is that its brightness remains almost constant for most of the batt life coz it is regulated

I replaced the standard head with the KL4 and added the M2 clip (which Surefire "borrowed" for the E2O. It is clipped to my L front pocket and I'll have a tailer sew a long narrow mini-pocket within that pocket to which the L4 will be invisibly clipped.
