Anybody that have this light, had run it for the life of the batteries? (20 minutes steady)
I need your imput. thermal shutdown? too hot? uncomfortable to hold? etc.
thanks to all
best regards

I have this combo and it works fine. I've not run it for 20 minutes continuously, perhaps a minute at a time max. I've only run it through one set of batteries so far. Didn't take very long at all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I personally wouldn't run this with a polycarbonate lens though. A friend melted a polycarbonate lens on a 6P with a P60 lamp. It did turn on in his sheath though.

I have that combination. Like Balrog I only ran it for about 1 or 2 min at a time. Went through a couple of sets of batteries. Currently my E2C is on a 3 cell McLux body w/ a G2 head & a P91. It gets the same short cycles as the P61 did. For my uses the G2 head works. I would be worried about using it for long periods because I suspect the lens would melt. It doesn't matter for me though. I have other lights for general lighting. I only use the light w/ the P61 (now P91) when I need really intense light. (I did a lot of onsite computer work in the Chicago area. It was comforting & legal to have with me when I walked through a dark parking garage.)

I have all the components but havent fired it up yet... My 123 batteries are with my PR-T917 light. No spares to play yet. Z44 Pyrex + E2C + L4 body + Z52 tailcap. Plus P61 still sealed. Eventually, I'm going to try running a Pila 3.7 LA plus 168s. Lower amount of total light, but guilt-free /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

its one on the right most position

Thanks to all the guys that answered, but this is a very common modification and I can't belived that nobody has run the light for 20 minutes. Has to be more guys out there with the kind of imformation I am seeking.
C'mon guys I need your imput.

Does the E2e require a special bezel for the P61 lamp?? I didn't know this would work?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

How would like to run your P61 125Lumen lamp? The older Lexan-lenses bezel would really melt if run for a prolong period. I've seem a friend's Z2 bezel that had melted. I think its okey if you only need it the "tactical" way-- a few seconds at a time.

Will the P-61 lamp assy fit in an E2e head?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Short burst will prolly be a lot cooler to hold.

A thousand words...

Lighting it up... mix-n-matching components..:D
Using E2-series body + appropriate tailcap

...with an E1-series + Doug Speck's 123 cell extender

...even into a 3-cell P90/P91 capable light...

daloosh,
just trying to share the informations that CPF has given me... CPF is simply... priceless... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Johnny,
You mention a Pila 3.7 LA plus 168, which I am not familiar with, can you explain? and also why will lower the total light?
thanks

The pila batteries are lower voltage then two 123s. The 168s work well with regulated lights and with 3.7volt lamps but fall short with items needing 6 volts. If you look at my site, you can learn about these batteries and a little about what they can and cannot do.

Thankd
Jon
