Greetings all,

I'm new to your strange and alien culture and I have come here seeking wisdom and guidance. I have a Surefire E2e. It's about a week or so old and I have a question. By the way, this is my first high end light (not counting a Surefire forend on my 870) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I noticed tonight that there is, what appears to be a burn mark (?) on the inside of the lens. It looks sort of like an oil slick. If this helps any, it's in the shape of a brain ..... or possible two snails kissing. I cleaned the outside of the lens but that didn't help. It's definately on the inside.

1. Is this normal?
2. What is it?
3. Should I be worried?
4. How do I separate the bezel from the "Caution Hot Surface" "unit" to clean the lens?

Thanks in advance!
Brent...

My advice? Don't bother about it. I too have that on my E2e. It is the high heat intensity of the light reacting with the coating on the glass lens. No problems with that. Beam will not deteriorate and quality will still be there. And don't worry, it won't catch a fire.

DO NOT try to clean the lens. The inside side is coated and you'll just make it worse trying to clean it. As long as it doesn't affect the beam, I wouldn't worry about it.
