E2e LOTC

Oh no! I just got my new E2e-HA, and this is worrying me! Surefire will replace it for free if this happens to me, correct? Will they still be able to supply me with a LOTC, I really prefer that to the clickie switch.

Is this problem inherit to the entire Surefire Line? Or is it just centered on the Executive Series?

sharp: i meant cleaning the LOTC rubber cap with soap water, whilst its still screwed on to the body /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif i do that to a few surefires i use and handle regularly, and so far they're all fine /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif though your fingertips might not sweat a lot, body oils in small amounts might still accumulate over time...either that or you just happened to get a bad rubber cover on your tailcap. i do recall reading about this some time back as well.

I don't think this is a case of the rubber wearing down. It looks like it's just dirty from a build up of dirt or even skin from your fingers.

I'm not sure if I'm digressing here but I have a black MOMO steering wheel in my car that suffers from a similar problem. For months I notices that everytime a drive, my hands get a little dirty from the steering wheel. The steering wheel looked and felt perfectly normal but if a rub on it, this black stuff comes off. Since then I've realized that it's just dirt from my hands with the combination of body oils that was previously mentioned that gunks up after a long time. You may not notice the dirt building up enough to clean it so in time it builds up a little more at a time.
