Eagletac D25LC2 with a Callie's Kustoms 18650 - Does it work?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not the Callie's Kustoms 18650 (3100mah protected) works in an Eagletac D25LC2?

The light has a reverse protection ring inside the head but I'm wondering it the button on the cell is small enough to fit inside the ring.

Any first hand experience?

It has a broad button...Will not fit in the D25LC2. I've had this problem with some unprotected NCR18650's not working. The head in the light has a protruding spot to prevent users from inserting the batteries backwards.

The ET 18650 cell will fit...Anything with a protruding button-top will work...Just not those giant raised top.

I wonder if it's possible to heat up that ring with a soldering iron and remove it? From a picture I saw, it looked to be soldered in place. I don't have the light yet.

I wouldn't recommend removing the ring...Feels like part of the entire board. If you want to, try soldering a blob onto the contact portion and sand it even. The back portion of drivers are usually solderable.
