Get some more money and buy a RA Twisty 85-TR for $140 on Battery Station.

It includes 5 CR123A batteries and a Pelican case custom made to hold the Twisty and the five batteries.

Even better, get an EX10. Same brightness, but smaller than the D10, longer runtimes, stainless bezel, runs on primary or rechargeable 123s. :twothumbs

L0D Q4?

With it's output and runtime it's a better size for EDC, or in addition to a larger single cell AA or 123 sized light.

EagleTac P10A is worth considering.

Bright on Alkaline and NiMh
Good runtime
Simple 2mode via head twist
Forward clickie
Can tailstand
Removeable clip
Very smooth beam
Good spill beam
Holster included
Quality construction
Under $60

It's my favourite AA light by a huge margin.

If you can afford twice the moola, a Surefire E1B Backup is great.

If you want to stay with your namesake, a P2d Q5 Premium is pretty good... sheath and everything - get your own CR123s, of course (Check a gun store locally for S-F CR123s - all carry them for 2/$5 or less.).

Pick up an iTP C9R from the Marketplace or from shiningbeam.com (if you're in the USA) and grab a forward clicky for it (+$6.75). It takes a CR/RCR123, and you can also use the same head for the C7(AA) and C8(2xAA) bodies - also available at Shiningbeam. Add a C8 holster for $4.95.
Continuously variable, idiot-proof output from 2-max lumens, nice hotspot and beam color plus strobe and SOS, but it has memory so you don't have to deal with either if you don't want.
The whole shebang will set you back around $80.
I have this setup listed above and it's a great value. I EDC a C9 using a Fenix P1D holster and it does pretty much everything I want when I need light and stays out of the way on the belt when I don't.

The ITP C9R is an excellent light, but as is, there is no separate tail cap. Get a C7 body tube and a forward clicky and then you can also use a AA with the head.

Which is why I recommended that for ~$80 he could use any battery config.
Read it again.

Why do you keep telling the OP to buy twice the price light he's looking for? Sixty bucks may be stretching his budget. For a lot of people $60.00 is an insane amount to pay for a flashlight.
