In my car I've been packing a Fenix P2D, PT Attitude, River Rock 2AAA, and an Energizer 4AA Folding Lantern. Keep forgetting to add the little Petzl e-Lite headlamp my son gave me. Of course there are also whatever lights I have in my pockets and keychain.

Well, it's car not a pant's pocket. So it doesn't need to be in the EDC class. I usually have a SureFire G3-- completely stock-- with new batteries in the glove box. An Inova 24/7 and a X5. More than I will ever need, realistically...
 
My new setup is a stock SF yellow G2 with a traffic cone, and a SF U2 in the center console.

Also, I have a SF 9P with the turbo head, and a SF L4 in my small truck BOB.

Plus what I have on me when I get in.

Total lights in my truck = 4.

NonSenCe, seven is not too many. Our lights serve a purpose, but at the same time is our hobby, so if a guy wants to carry seven lights...why not!?

Agree 100%!

A traffic cone could serve other emergencies, and help gain attention for any number of things.

You could even set it on the ground 100 ft behind your car if you are disabled on the side of the road, just like a flare, if needed.
 
oooh I forgot about my EOS, that'd be great in the truck...And atraffic cone diffuser is not a bad idea either...

I thought 7 lights was too many too, but on our last nature walk we needed every one of them.

I also realized that as a junior level flashaholic (just graduated the DX phase), I CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY LIGHTS

No pictures of the the beat up 6P or the G2 that's also in there. I'm gonna throw in one of my old E2E's in my car because yesterday at work I somehow forgot my E2DL and felt completely naked and paranoid. It also didn't help that I stayed longer a few hours after midnight and had to walk to my car in the dark.

I carry a lot of flashlights in my car only because I got a lot of room. They are more likely to be used if they are kept in my car than at home.
 
Currently in my truck.

2D Mag Rebel in driver's side door compartment.
Streamlight TL-3 incandescent in one glove box.
Surefire E1L in console box.
Streamlight Polytac LED in back seat.
Jetbeam M1x in map comparment on top of front passenger seat.

5.11 push pack with Surefire G3D-FL on outside. PT Apex 130 lumen version and spare batteries.

Inova X1 in a pocket case along with a spare knife and multi-tool.


Normally there are more but I've been rearranging after hunting season and have taken a lot out. Combining these with the E1B, LX2 and T1A that I carry at night I feel pretty well covered for most situations. Lol.

Very true. I forgot to add that I got an LED headlamp that's somewhere in my rear drawer set up. Also I got a Crasftsman wireless work light with magnetic base. It has come in handy many many times.
 
Based on several experiences, I like my Mag 4D for remote area flat tires etc where all sorts of menacing-looking characters are slowing down to take a look or whatever they have in mind. Probably they are very nice folks who only want to help, but I like the very visible presence of a honking big mag light in my hand in case they are not. Not to say a maglight is a very good light by today's standards, or easy to use as a light in that type of breakdown situation, just comforting as all get out.

I have a 3AA led Maglite in the glove box, a Dorcy 220 lumen rechargeable (with charger) under the seat and a 12V cigarette lighter spot light in the back (plus whatever I happen to have in my pocket).
 
I have 3 lights in all my vehicles. A Surefire 6P or G2 with M60L for throw, a Fenix P2D or Quark 123 for long running low or flashing, and a Zebra H30 for hands free. One car has an AA set of Fenix TK20, Quark AA and Zebra H50. I like to have all the lights in a vehicle use the same battery type. You might get by with something like an E2DL and a headlamp if you don't have a use for the flashing modes, but I've found them useful on a couple of occasions. Before reading this thread, I hadn't thought about a "loaner" but that's a good idea, I've got some Fenix E01 somewhere....
 
I've got a G2 with an M60LL in my car, along with 4 extra cells.

There's often a Princeton Tec EOS headlamp in the console.

This is all in addition to my Ra Clicky, which is always in my pocket.
 
Full Sized Van here, do I get to play? :naughty:

1. L2D (Front Cab hidden away) with traffic cone attachment - good for breakdowns etc. My go to general useage light

2. Yellow SF G2L (Back door) when I just need to poke around in the back of my truck (short run times, but used only for short periods of time)

3. SF E1L (Tool Chest) Apparently my SF's are my least used lights *shrug

4. SF A2 - (Front Cab hidden away) don't have anywhere else to put it (put it in my truck hoping to use it in the "outdoors" to see what the big deal is...still haven't used it)

5. Little Ritter headlight (I think?) needs to be swapped out with a better one....shrug, good for changing tire and reading maps *it's got a clip

6. TK40 - (Back Cab)for when the SHTF

7. Oh, forgot my handheld cigarette light plugin Searchlight style Light...

dang....now that I've actually bothered to list them all and see it, I'm a bit shocked/embarrassed lol. :ohgeez: Damn You!

* Then again none of my interior lights work..... :)
 
In my 03 mitsu eclipse, I keep a 4D maglight right behind my passenger seat where I can grab it fast enough if I ever need to. I pass through a rough town on my way to and from classes. Im actually thinking of wrapping the handle in some tape for better grip.
 
I have in my car:

SF 9P w XR-E R2 dropin
UK 4AA w 4AA R LA
small LED light that clips to the brim of a hat with either white or red 5mm LEDs

Plus all the lights in my BOB. ;)
