EDC with strobe?

I'd like an all rounder - camping/dog walking etc with a strobe for emergencies / self defence.

I own the Klarus XT11 but its a little bit big for EDC

My current considerations:

Klarus XT1c - What I'll likely buy. Great size. OK Output - I'd like a few more lumen (I think? apparently the beam is quite focused)

Klarus XT2c - Great output, slightly too big (unless folk recon its pretty s**t hot and it is worth the size compromise over the XT1c?)

Eden TDL20 - Slightly too tactical but perfect strobe for self defence use. Would prefer smaller (again unless someone can persuade me!)

Your ideas are very welcome - any experience with these? Any other I should look at?

The Klarus XT1C will most likely be my next purchase. I own the XT2C, and would like the same interface in something smaller for pocket carry in warmer weather. The Klarus XT interface is hard to beat.

If you want something smaller than the XT2C but with more lumens than the XT1C, take a look at the FourSevens QT2L. The version with the XP-G2 emitter puts out about 275 lumens. The version with the XM-L2 puts out even more, but has a slower strobe rate that is reportedly less effective. The former is my current most common EDC. Mine is programmed for strobe with the head tight, and maximum with the head loose. I carry it with the head tight.

i would go for the eagletac D25C clicky. I'm pretty sure its the brightest single 123 cell light out there.

I've been EDC pocket-carrying one of these Quark 'tactical' lights for about 4 years now. Terrific lights. I currently carry the XM-L version (840 lumens in 'burst' and strobe), but I still like my original one that had the XP-G R5 and I have the XP-G2 version also. Like BillSWPA says, the XM-L version strobe is much slower than the others. I carry mine with same two modes set up like BillSWPA.

Nitecore MT1C and MT2C. Way cheaper than the Klarus, good quality build, more throwy - the Klarus are on the floody side.

The Nitecore UI is not as good though: you have momentary on on turbo but with the head loosened if you use momentary on, is too easy cycle through modes by mistake. The Low outputs are also very bright.
