EL "Indiglo" gauge lights

Might be a bit off topic, but I get the feeling I'm not alone in my admiration of the EL flexible mat material that can be made into backlighting for almost anything.

The things are positively enchanting! They have a sublime glow that just can't be captured by my digital camera.

The gauge overlays were bought already as ready-cut with artwork. I'd really like to get a hold of the raw material for some special projects. If anyone has a source for hobbyist quantities please advise.

One of the larger manufacturers is Seiko try a search on EL + Seiko other possible source is:

Either wat it aint a particularly cheap material and has a finite life span.Brighter you drive it shorter it lives...

Looks good, but a word of caution - be very careful at resale time. Many buyers when they see evidence of speedo removal suspect the worst and assume the mileage has been "adjusted ...
