I just received a Tec-40 this morning...which the postman tried his hardest to ram through the letter box, before leaving it hanging half-in/half-out with the packaging ripped over the words FRAGILE!!

Any hows...how do you attach the lanyard? It appears that as a single thread it would go through the hole on the end of the light, but as the lanyard thread is doubled over into a loop it doesn't. OR do I just need to try harder?

Hi Kev1-1

You could try tying a piece of cotton round the lanyard and then place the cotton through the hole in the Tec40 intended for the lanyard and pull the lanyard through. After just loop the lanyard and snap the cotton off.

Don’t get me started on postmen, everything I have ordered recently gets opened before it arrives and then they use green tape to bodge it all back together, half the time they don’t even put things back properly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Anyway good luck with the Tec40, I hope you try a KPR103 and NiMH in it, nice little light.
I saw they were selling them (old style with the smooth reflector here in Denmark for 389 Kroner – 61 US Dollars!!!!!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I bought mine from TTS for $11.99, so as you can see I really rely in getting my gear from the States as well.
God Bless America! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Cheers Grummond! I knew the answer was looking me in the face!! Yep, sound like being a fellow European you have the right to be ripped off just as much as I am over here!! The US is so much cheaper...even if customs do tax you!

I used an unfolded paper clip to shove the lanyard through the hole on my Tec 40. The hole does seem a bit small, though.

The edge of the hole was sharp on mine, so I deburred it. Folded lanyard went through easily enough...now there's no potential of having the lanyard frayed or cut through over time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for confirming that it wasn't just me who thought the hole was a little small at first! I assumed I was just acting dumb!
