Hi im trying to think up my first custom, i was just wondering what i can expect Heat wise/ brightness / runtime from direct driving an Mce/P7/sst50/xpg.
running on one cr123 as a starting point
any info helpful thanks
will an mce be under powered and not produce too much heat ? if so what will the brightness be like ? stuff like this .......

Please specify what you're trying to use the light for. Are you aiming for EDC, lumen power, throw, a perfect beam, flood light, it will be easier to help you if you give use more information

hi, i havnt decided yet, its all just for fun really. just wanted to know how each type would react to being driven directly with single cr123 as a starting point. then from that i could work out what sort of light to build.
thanks

I would think you'd need to use a RCR123A if you're direct driving. and if you want the max current output, use a AW IMR16340.

those cells are capable of putting out 3-5A? A SST-50 would work. Runtime: 6 minutes... :P
