Guys~
I carry my LSH-P in a small leather pounch in the watch pocket of my jeans with some other stuff. (I mostly wear jeans because they're tough, comfortable, and most of all~~they are made of cotton. NON-FLAMMABLE!!! I've already been in one flaming airplane and I take "precautions" now. [I didn't like it the first time. Had to run like he## when I set the sucker down.] Anyway, I just read a review of an LSH-P, and the author states that he likes the "twist cap" better because it's shorter and all metal. (More durable.) This sounds good to me because I've always had a fear of poking a hole in the "rubber" tail cap switch cover. However, I can't find the twist caps for the #123 lithiums on the Arc Order page. Are they available? How much do they cost? Is there any reason why I SHOULD NOT buy one?

Thanks Guys,
Will

Up until recently, I've always preferred the twist-cap as opposed to the clicky, however I'm finding that I miss having the clicky if I go to grab my LSH and it doesn't have it on. Since then, I've been solely using the clicky on all my ARC. I belt carry my LSH in the OEM belt pouch, so the size difference doesn't really matter. In fact, the longer length of the clicky tailcap makes the LSH to feel/fit better in my hand.

.... plus you can use the rubber clicky cap to hold the LS between your teeth for those moments when you need both hands free. Try that with the twist cap!

I think they're available on the "seconds" page for $4.95 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif plus $8 ship. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Also, some members had them available on BST Lights. Do a search on "twisty". Be aware however, that some twist packs did not work with all battery brands.

My LS hybrid came with the twisty, and personally I prefer it. The light is very compact with it. And I use it with one hand very easily. It also stands on end for candle mode. Mine has never failed or flickered and only a light twist is neccessary to turn it on. I have shrink tubing on the twisty to bite down on.
I don't like the clicky. Too large and weird looking, and with more parts, can be less reliable, IMO.

Kentucky Rifle,

I have both the twisty and the kroll and I can't decide which I like better. Depends on the week. I suggest you get a P-123.

Unfortunately, the P-123s sold on the Arc website are now bare aluminum. www.pocketlights.com has some HA P-123s last time I checked. Also, various people on the CPF have P-123s they could sell you. Check out Size15s post on the B/S/T forum. He asked people how he could get a hold of one and he got a number of replies. The thread is something like "I want a HA Arc P-123".

Anyway, the Arc LS with the twisty on it is pretty cool. Very small and compact and no rubber. It isn't as good for momentary on uses, however. As I said, get both kinds.

I had a power failure last week and went looking for a LED flashliht I could stand on end. I couldn't find crap until I saw the 123 twistie. It worked great.
I gotta get me one of those CCFLs.

My um... LSH-S uh... 'powered up' in my pocket today... It was all fine and dandy until I put my hand in my pocket and did the Yosemitty Sam 'My Bisquets is Burning!' dance.

Yikes!

It happened to me too. I put a miniclip on my LSL and dangle it from my belt loop now. I hope the LS4's switch is recessed enough where it contacts below the plane of the tailcap. It may take slightly more effort but hey.

I was a firm clickie fan on the LS when I first got one but I've since changed my mind. The LS is just so small and handy with the twisty on and like others said, can be stood on end. I'm also so used to twisting it on with one hand, it's second nature to me now. Something about that Kroll on an LS just doesn't look right. I'll keep it though but I doubt I'll ever use it again.
