Eneloop storage?

Hello!

Just recived 24 AA and 24 AAA of the new version of Eneloop batteries. This is the first time i have ever bought rechargeable batteries. I also bought me a good and easy-to-use charger, MaHA MH-C800s. How should i store these batteries? When i was a kid we always had our batteries in the refrigerator :). Does that still apply?

Storing them in the refrigerator to keep them cool shouldn't hurt them on a hot day. I don't recommend putting them in the freezer though. Dont let them sit in the hot sun on a 75+ degree day. Its heat what kills batteries. Maybe get some cheap plastic battery holders that hold like 8 batteries too. Good choice in a aa charger :thumbsup: I myself got a maha c808m as my first decent one.

Thanks for the answer. I actually looked at the MaHa MH-C9000 and understands that is a better charger but i just seems to complicated for me to start with. Heat in Sweden where i live is not a problem at the moment. It's winter here :)

No more complicated than learning how batteries and electricity works, and how to properly use your batteries. For me at least, it's rather fun.

Storing your Eneloops in desk drawer, on a shelf, or the like is fine.

room temp. never leave nimh in cold, below freezing, it will kill them, they can work in freezing cold np, but not long storage.

I wouldn't bother putting them in a fridge unless you don't have a place to store them that stays below 90F as keeping them warmer than a fridge only increases self discharge rate a little. I have a tackle box with my batteries in it I got at walmart for $6 that works just fine
