i know eneloops lsd chemistry is great for holding their charge forever, basic cpf stuff. but would they take more pictures in a digital camera than a duracell 2650 if they were both hot off the charger (or just a few days off)

i'm thinking the ability to give high drain quickly of the eneloop would help it to not "strain" under the intense quick high draw of a camera shot. is that the experience you guys have had?

I use both eneloops and Duracell 2650's in my Canon 430EX flashgun and find the following.

*When at full capacity the eneloops seem to charge my flash quicker. I feel more capable of taking multiple fps shot counts with the Sanyos.
*For a single days heavy shooting, or for a period of approx 1-2 weeks the 2650's will last noticeably longer. These are great batteries to take on holiday.
*For longer periods or occasional camera usage (5 or 6 shots per day or less), the eneloops are better. I find my Duracells lose too much capacity after a month or so to be reliable.

In my camera bag I tend to carry two sets of batteries. One set of Duracells for primary use and a set of eneloops for backup.

So, if you intend to take dozens, or hundreds of photos per day get the 2650's. If you only take occasional shots get the eneloops. For anything in-between get both:).

As for the choice of high capacity and lsd batteries, these are as good as it gets atm.

I use 4x Eneloop's with my Canon PowerShot A640, during last summer I took more than 1000 pictures, plus several downloads to my computer. And the battery's still worked fine after that :)
