i got one it wasnt to expensive but im wondering if its good i like it so far .i wanted that 15 minute charger but it only came with 2 batts this came with 4

Sam's Club here in town had that Energizer 30 minute charger with 4 1850mah AA cells for $20.00, so I picked one up.

Does charge them in 30 minutes; four independent channels, batteries do get pretty hot. However, they seem to like it and perform like champs. Not the baddest AA in capacity around, but they way out performed new Energizer alkaline cells. The alks were a little old, with a use by date of 2005, but the NiMh spanked them pretty bad on their first charge.

Run time chart HERE

So, in answer to your original question, yes this charger and batteries are worth the price in my opinion.

i got some 2100 mah for it to they look excatly same and was 10 bucks at walmart i want like 250 pics with em lol for my digtal camera ty for run time chart and info

The Energizer NiMH AAs are actually Sanyo cells OEM'd to Energizer. I have numerous cells in operation in my collection, and they have performed extremely well. Especially for the price it's tough to beat, unless you get the Sanyo HR-3Us from batterystation (essentially the same battery). I cannot comment on the charger however, but this question has risen before on CPF and nothing bad has been said about it, other than the usual with fast chargers--batteries get hot.

Raggie, I'm no expert, but I think the batteries might not last as long before they go in the trash because they get so hot in the charger. But it's still a great deal! Was looking at that same charger earlier tonight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Scott, welcome back.

As for this charger, I got it as a gift for Christmas, and so far so good. I agree with all of the above comments. The feature I like the best is that you don't have to charge batteries in sets of two. I have a light that takes 3 batteries, and this charger is perfect for it. I've charged both the 1850's and the 2100's in it.

A good alternative to this might be the Rayovac 15 minute charger. I believe Scott has that one and may be able to comment on it.

Kart, thanks for the welcome. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif How hot do the batteries get with the Energizer 30 minute charger? Too hot to touch? And does it have any sort of cooling fan in it?

I do have that Rayovac 15 minute charger. It charges the Rayovac "IC3" batteries in 15 minutes, and all others trickle charge overnight. It's terrific! Has a cooling fan inside so the cells don't get all that hot. Works as advertised. Highly recommended if you're willing to buy the IC3 cells for it.

No cooling fan that I noticed. I must admit I only used this charger twice, both times I was charging sets of brand new (never charged before) batteries, and the directions said to charge them for 24 hours the first time. So I did. The charger light went out around 30 min, I guess it trickeled after that. By the 24 hour mark everything was pretty cool. At the 30 minute or so mark both the charger and the batts were warm to the touch, but by no means hot, or to hot to touch.
