Night vision is new to me and I would like to purchase a night vision monocular that is battery powered. I would be willing to spend at most about $150. Any reccomendations?

I saw something at Big 5. It was a 3.1x Night Vision Monocular that uses 2AA and is made by Night Owl Optics. It is regularaly 329.99 and is now 159.99. Is this any good?

Night Owl is generally Russian Gen I that is a few years old. Yes, it will work pretty well with a good illuminator. It may serve your purposes, or you may find you need more clarity, which means more $$$ and moving up to Gen II or III. For that price you should be able to sell it for most of that if you decide it won't work for you. I have an old Night Owl Gen I unit that I used recently to look for a lost kitten, in some very dark woods. The reason I used the NV is that animal's eyes will really stand out.

Hay Illuminatingbikr I see what you mean. Have you seen the one there're taking about at Costco? Check it out....
Great graphic by the way! Costco NVG
