Estimated Lumen Values?

I am wondering what the estimated lumen output for Peak lights based on CP would be? I know that a good estimate for lumens is lux times 1.39, but I've never heard of a formula like this for CP. I also wonder if anyone has estimated lumen/CP values for the different brightness choices. XLR, HP, UP, SP? This would be for a Baltic or a Pacific w/P4. It looks like Peak makes some great lights, but their website is next to useless. :ohgeez:

You misunderstand the formula. Lux (brightness measured somewhere in the beam) and lumens (total amount of light output in all directions) cannot be directly related to each other. QBs flashlight review site does take measurements of the total light generated by test flashlights which are listed as a plain number with no units attached (just so's we can compare). Some tests indicated that the true lumens output for LED lights is approximately 1.39 times the QB total output measurement.

By that formula, for example, the Peak 3 LED matterhorn is good for about 9 lumens off a fresh alky AAA but has dropped to about 4 lumens after about 40 minutes.

If you want a LOT of info about Peak's lights, contact Peak directly and ask for their Catalog on CD. :)

Does the CD have info on their lights with the SSC leds in them, or just the Luxeon versions?

That is what I meant, it's just that he also gives measurements in lux so I got mixed up. :ohgeez:

I have the 2006 Peak catalog on CD, so it does not have info on the new SSC P4 LED's. I am sure that Peak will update their catalog for 2007 once data for the new lights is available.
