Unless something else comes along before the end of the month I am seriously considering getting one of these two EagleTac lights. Mainly for the flat Regulation on 18650. But, I am trying to figure out/decide what makes the T20 worth the significant difference of $25-$35 dollars over the T100 MKII? Anyone know/ponder this? I cant imagine the R2 led in the T20C2 is the reason. Other than that how different are these two lights? any input is appreciated!!

filter system, 300 lumens, tint choice, multimode.

what are you going to be using the light mainly for?

Yeah but the filter system is an option for xtra dough. And I really dont think they will get 300 lumens from an R2 on one 18650 at 3.7volts. The math just doesnt add up on that but even if it puts out 250lumens that is great , but I think from reading they both use the same circuitry .

It will be for general use around the house and yard no tactical purposes. I do like the SS bezel ring on the T20 but there has to be more than that to it doesnt there?

Decide which feature set is more important to you:

- Higher output
- Available neutral tint LED
- Diffuser
- RGB Filters
- Clip
- Low mode
- Strobe

or

- Turbo mode regulation on 18650
- Smoother beam pattern
- Lower price
- Smaller size and lower weight
- No mode change via clicky
- Longer runtimes on comparable settings

So, there is a difference on runtimes? The T20c2 has shorter runtimes and no regulation on high? Have you come across this performance variation information here on a CPF thread Toaster?

Thanx for the input:)

Nothing so far has shown that the T20C2 is regulated with 18650s, and from the way Eagletac has worded their advertisements, I don't think it will be. It might be, but it would probably come down to the Vf of the LED, and if they want to pick ones with a low Vf.

All the info is on Eagletac's site. T20C2 is advertised as being regulated on low and med with 2xCR123 and 1x18650. High is only advertised as being regulated with 2xCR123 with no mention of 18650 regulation.

T20C2 runtime on high is advertised as 1.5 hr on 2xCR123. T100C2 runtime on high is advertised as 2hr on 2xCR123. That should be fairly accurate given that the T20C2 is being driven much harder. 1200maH versus 850maH. T20C2 is advertised to have a C1200II driver versus the T10LC2 which has a C1200 driver. I'm guessing the circuit performance should be pretty much the same with addition of low + strobe mode on top. But I do hope Eagletac improved 18650 performance because the T10LC2 fairs rather poorly on 18650 imho.

Well, I keep looking at the specs on Eagletac and neither one states constant regulation on 18650 in Turbo mode. Just on 2 CR123s.

Bummer, this may kill it for me. I could have sworn someone said the T100c2MkII had the same driver as some other ET light with flat reg.

What was the light that eagletac made that did have flat reg. on high? anyone know?

litetube, how can you forget T100C2 is regulated on 18650 when you mentioned it yourself in the very first post?

HAHA, I cant keep all these models straight with flashlights. It's getting insane. There is another light maybe before the MarkII ? that had flat reg. on high . I cant remember what it is, maybe the predecessor to the T100? I know it is another model because there was a review done on it and neither of the baove mentioned models have hit consumer hands yet that I am aware of.

Thanx for the help :)

The main reason I'm eagerly waiting for the T20C2 to show up is the high output neutral white option!

Second, the UI is very interesting, being a simple tactical one, but offering strobe and more usefull, a low setting.

Third, my M20 wants a half-brother! :poke:

The MKII ist just another light (to me)...

I have the T100C2 but i'm seriously contemplating the T20C2 because of a few reasons:
1. Looks...it looks like a 'real' tactical light
2. The multimodes, i think strobe might come in handy during emergency situations
3. The low low
4. Hopefully a good diffuser

You are probably thinking of the P100C2 ;)

I love the looks of this light also . I just have such limited funds when I make a choice it has to be a good one. I find I am really becoming drivento find a light with flat output. I am tired of lights that start to dim after1-2mins at full output. It drives me nuts when a light maker states something like 300 lumens and it can only maintain that level for 30 seconds and then output drops on a slope over the next 2 hrs. So after 30 mins you are only getting 70% of what you started with . I find myself always questioning, should I pull the battery and charge now? Is it low enough to swap out the battery? Am I at 60% output now? I am always analyzing my output and it drives me nuts. I want consistant output for at least 1 1/2 hrs and the look of the T20. Now I see all the Eagletacs seem to use different drivers and each performs differently. I guess maybe it was the P100C2 and that driver is optimized for 18650?

I have the T100c2MKII and I love it. For the money you can't beat it. I have also thought of getting both, however I am now looking at the olight m21 for my next light.

I have both , the T100C2 Mk2 with the tail stand kit and OP reflector and the T20C2 with RGB kit.
I really dont like the T20 , the only things I like most is more throw and 1 more mode with less light.
Beside that the T100C2 MkII wins in every aspect.

Its better with 18650 and the beam is nicer. Also is a lot cheaper so also a win.

I really dont see the point on the T20C2... its probably the worse light Eagletac has (and I already tested all of them).

See, I'm also between these two lights. My primary interest though is a pocketable light with maximum throw and output... Emphasis on the throw. Is the difference in throw very noticeable? Or is it not noticeable enough to pick the T20 over the T100?

My T100 measures 11k lux and the T20 14k lux.

Did some outdoor tests and you can notice more throw on the T20. But if you dont need to throw very far I still prefer the T100 beam with OP lense.

I also had a M2XC4 and thats a real far thrower :poke:

But remember that when using a 18650 the T20 after 1h of use will be out throw by the T100C2 MKII because of its better regulation.
In the T100 after 2h of use you still get the same throw as a fully charged 18650 would give... but in the T20 after 2h you are down to 70% of its throw.

Bottom line is that for me the T20 is not worth the money... T100C2 MKII or M2XC4 are the way to go.

Regards,

Thanks Art... I believe you may have saved Santa some money...
