European source for Cree MC-E and optics?

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Must they come from Europe, or is it enough that they ship to Europe at no surcharge?
I've bought craploads of stuff, including bare LEDs, from hong-kong based dealextreme. Sure, shipping takes a while, but it's the only place where getting this stuff is both easy and cheap.

partco.fi have a couple of optics (most interestingly a 10degree 13mm one) but those are the sources I would have pointed you to.

Ebay.de?

Hi, Sweden seems far away sometimes... The USD has also got 40% more expensive compared to SEK in the last months.

Farnell is fast and not too expensive. Unfortunately they only sell to registered business.

Molelectric.se and ELFA.se and conrad.se also sell powerleds and optics, but not the MC-E.

I may be able to help you, enable contact details in your profile and I'll PM you.

Hei,

I live in your neighbor country, and I have just bought from Cutter in Australia. Very good service. I changed my order, and had several questions. All were promptly answered and everything fixed with great flexibility to my liking. Very fast shipping from Cutter, but the post took quite some time. I guess the Christmas season may be the reason because shipping from Australia earlier have not taken that long.

The main reason I want to buy from a european source is to avoid the hassle with customs and such, but any good source works. Dealextreme are nice, and their deliveries usually get through customs without any problems.
So far, cutter is the only shop I have found where it is possible to order specific color bins. Any other recommendations?

Both Led-tech (WG,7A), dealextreme (WG,WC) and kaidomain (WD,WC) specify colour bin. Farnell on some of the the leds.
But cutter has most tints to choose from.

What are you going to use the leds for? The MC-E is not easy to use if you want a narrow beam. It is very floody. Most lenses and reflectors are 20-40 degrees. The ones more narrow are around 35mm and rather bulky.

The Ledil EVA optic seems to be performing well for an MC-E spot beam. See the datasheet on ledil's website with beamshots.
