the side emitter looks like it has a little funnel perched on top.

Side emitters are ½ hour glass shaped lens and the lambertian are 'round nose' design. Best I can describe them.

I just received mine in the mail from LED Supply.....arrived in three days....WOW...great service ! Popped it in my 2D Mag and what a difference. I am glad I upgraded. I can see a vast improvement in light quality ( whiteness and purity ) if not a huge boost in intensity.

I seem to recall trying my Teal in a M*g. I think I saw some goofy artifacts.

If what I see in my Lambda pill, XM3 and KL3 by Chop are any indication...

My Lambertian Everled came today.

In total daylight coming in the windows, I can tell this already... I got a very blue tinted LED /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

My lights are all paper wrapped in a storage box, but I got out my 3D M*g that has 4nimh C in it. It also has a diffusing lense (brain fart as to name of it).

In that light the Eled doesn't SEEM to be as bright as the 3 cell Whitestar but does have a nice beam.

I reckon I'll make a 2D M*g into something useful with it....

I would say test it at night. One MAJOR thing I've noticed since buying LED's is that they are so close to normal daylight in color that you really can not tell how bright they are or their color until you test them in the dark.
