\"extreme grip texture\" on Tigerlights

What is the "extreme grip" stuff on the tigerlights? Is it rubber, or what? I am thinking about getting an FBOP tigerlight, but I hate aluminum lights that have rubber grips on them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Also, what is the cheapest place to buy a TL?

Thanks,
Micah

Re:

it's just a different type of knurling, sort of like very smooth dull sandpaper. i prefer it over typical knurling.

Re:

I think they media blast it with what looks to be a fairly dull media. It's like a really smooth sandblasting - it's a nice combniation of grip and comfort.

Re:

I still find it slippery when my hands are cold and dry. Aggressive knurling is helpful under those conditions, but not as effective as rubberized, more "tacky" material.

Asp Taclite has an excellent non-slip grip.

hey bwcaw,

if you ever decide on buying a Tigerlight FBOP let me know. I see that you have an Ultrastinger on your sig line, i've been wanting to trade my TL for an Ultrastinger or any other interesting light.
