Recently, Beamhead has devised a brilliant yet simple way to make EZ AA single mode. It's by removing the foam and insert it into the tube before the battery is inserted, thereby, twisting it will quickly connect it to the hi mode.

I did that, but I realised when I insert the foam back into its original position, ie the top of the battery, my EZ AA can output to a super low right after the hi. I didn't twist it shut all the way. Seems to me I can activate these 3 modes at will now.

I'm sure it's a connection "problem" but I don't know what causes it. :duh2:
As far as I'm concerned, I hope it won't go away. ;)

Here're some shots

Here's a Youtube video

Kids, do not try this at home. I will not be responsible for any damage or injuries caused by the abuse of your EZ AA

Definitely mine (original version) does not do that. :o

A new one is due to arrive within the next couple of days and I will check.

You might get strobe then :poof: :tinfoil: then SOL.

Ah ha! Then I'll get a kind soul to mod it to R2 or Q4. I guess it's too much to ask for a MC-E...

I think EZ AA is still possible, not sure if the size can fit in....
But practically, even if it works, heatsinking is the greatest issue.

Good thing if you can do it at will!

Unfortunately, mine had an unstable low by which I mean it's low brightness is changing from time to time not at my will:mecry:Mine is the first with this kind of defect I guess since I've never seen any post about similar symptoms...

I'm waiting for a replacement to arrive.

Its possible to get a 1AA powered MC-E, i know Sabrewolf has stuffed one into a Jet I Pro and if i recall correctly ARC Mania has sold a few 1AA powered Mega Micros. I'd be worried about heatsinking an MC-e in the EZAA body though.
