I googled fauxton and came up with dealextreme and ten for $4.73. It sounds like the right one. I hope so because I ordered a bunch of them.

You won't regret it. They are great giveaway lights, and they last a long time.

IMHO, whenever I order the Fauxtons from them the order arrives properly. Unlike ordering their Ultrafire C3 or Ultrafire WF-606a which may or may not arrive in working condition. Maybe there will be one dead Fauxton in the bunch, but not enough to email a complaint or RMA.

One thing you should know about the Fauxton: There is a sliding switch on the Fauxton which is used keep the light in the on position. I've found that the more you use this switch, the looser it becomes. Eventually the switch will be so loose that you'll find the light turning itself on while in your pocket, and staying in the on postion. What I do to avoid this is I avoid using the switch so that it doesn't loosen up. Only use the sliding switch if you really really have to.

The term "fauxton" is also used as a generic term for a Photon clone, the original being made by Photon Light Inc. Most people seem to be happy with the DX ones, order many as the batteries may be dead in some of them.

the new ones i get free with every order from some sites have a nice switch thats holds click on/off

They're the ones I've been buying for the last couple years.

I've given away over 300 so far. Usually in pairs or more.
I found that if I gave only one to a friend, they'd get back to me asking how to get one for their wife/girl friend/kids etc.. So it was just easier to give them out in pairs or more in the first place.

Some people seem a little skeptical at first. Then later they tell me how impressed they were when they first used them.

I just wish they would get the Nichia version back in stock. I only bought 10 of them. Even though they cost more, I'd order quite a few of them.
