What are everyones favorite AA & AAA alkaline batteries?

What are everyones favorite AA & AAA Ni-MH rechargeables?

I did not do the research before I bought a whole bunch of 18650s (Tenergy 2600 button-tops) and although they have been working fine,after reading up it appears there are better batteries out there.

My lights deserve the best!

I'm guessing you guys are referring to the 2000mAh eneloops. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Is it worth the extra $ for the Sanyo 2700mAh rechargables?

You guys convinced me. I have a bunch of Harbor Freight AA NiMh batteries but I checked them a couple days ago. I had charged them up about a year ago and the state of charge of these batteries are inconsistent to say the least.

I just ordered 20 of the Sanyo Eneloop 2000 mAh batteries. These are the 1500 charge ones so I'm hoping they are the latest ones.
These will be going into my 4Sevens AA2 Tactical which will be here tomorrow or the next day. Only the best for my new baby.

no. Totally different animal. Eneloops are LSD (low self discharge) meaning they will still have 85% (or so) of their charge after sitting on a shelf for a year. Non-LSD NiMh cells will be near dead after a couple months on a shelf.

Ahh, I swore off LSD years ago after a bad batch, scary. I'm sure Sanyos LSD performs as it should. A year is a long time. That's a nice feature.
So I've only been able to find eneloops at 2000mAh. Do they make them with a higher mAh rating?

Eneloop, and sometimes when I catch them on sale Energizer lithium but thats all I use now.

I use eneloops for my lights, they are especial handy for lights that don't get used often but need to be ready at a moments notice.

Eneloop or their sister Duraloops (which are jsut re-labeled under the duracell name)

I have had excellent $ value results with ray-o-vac 4.0 AA cells. These were about $1 each 1-2 years ago. I use them along side the duraloops. Most of my AA / AAA lights are low-moderate current draw designs. These were discontinued a year or two ago and are impossible to find for a good price. At the prices the retailers currently want you may as well get eneloops, as eneloops DO test better than the 4.0 cells.

I don't use Alkalines EVER... no such thing as a good one.

Sanyo Eneloops for Ni Mh High capcity less discharge. I don't like alklines but I would go with Duracell if I had to use it. I would prefer lithium cells in very cold weather conditions but Eneloops are also descent in cold weather but doesn't beat lithium. Cold weather is the only reason I would use a overpriced lithium.

LSD rechargeable are the way to go! Pretty sure there was a comparison review done on a tonne of different brands a while back.

I used 2500mAh Nimh Energiser before and the ones i had were horrible...some of them they would be flat in a week.

Anyone know when the new higher capacity eneloops are coming out? the AA's are meant to be like ~2500mAh.

Been wanting to get some more for awhile but held back when the new ones were announced awhile ago.

LSD Eneloops are the best AA/AAA cell. It is the only cell I use in my AA/AAA lights. Energizer lithiums are the emergency shelf life batteries that I use. Here is a thread I like to share.
